BASU-UG AT RADIO UNIVERS

The Kennedy Donkor/Abigail Boateng Annor led administration’s first month in office visited the campus radio, Radio Univers to advocate BASU and its purpose and objectives. The Union had the opportunity as Kwabena Mensah Abrompa a news anchor and a host invited the union on several occasions to informeducate, and updatethe entire student populace about the various activities and events to be embarked by the Union. This created the awareness of the Brong Ahafo Students Union University of Ghana chapter and has become more popular and attractive at the University.

BASU ORIENTATION 2022

Orientation is inevitable as BASU-UG is concerned. It is one of the activities that is been organized annually to orient our freshers from the Brong Ahafo Region and have been admitted to the University of Ghana. The 2022 orientation was held on March 2022 and the event was overwhelmingand beyond expectation as the auditorium overflowed. The event was dignified by professor Albert Ahenkan (BASU-UG Patron), Professor Justice Bawole (Dean UGBS), Mr. David Douglas (Executive director of Douglas leadership forum),Mr. Ibrahim Abu-Agyemang (Work at the parliament of Ghana) Emmanuel Obeng (former BASU-UG president),etc. Professor Albert Ahenkan enlightened the freshmen to be time conscious and time management and not to wait until exams before they began to learn. Prof. took his time to explain to the freshmen and continue students what lecturers will expect from them as students at the end of every semester. The orientation helped the freshers to know their executives, Patrons, and above all what is expected from them as students and BASU-UG members.

BASU DAY OUT

BASU day out is one of the exciting activities that is been embarked on by the Union every academic year. This is when the entire Union decides to go out by agreeing on a specific place either the beach, museum, or any tourist attraction center. BASU day out facilitates building relationships, familiarizing with each other, socializing, networking, and making new friends, and also helps members to explore other parts of Ghana. The 2022 BASU day out took place at Labadi Beach. The event was heart-warming, cheering, and gladsome as the event was coupled with swimming, horse riding, games, and above all food and drinks as the union dined together.

BASU-UG nomination

The Chapter of Brong Ahafo Students Union at the University of Ghana was nominated by Ghana Tertiary Excellency Awards (GTEA) due to the extradentary performance of its leaders to the Union. Executives’hardworking, activism, and prioritizing of the objectives of the Union gave special recognition to the Union.

Though the Union did not win the category, however, BASU-UG got experience from that opportunity and hopes to emerge winner in future endeavors.
