At long last, after so many allegations raised against the UGSRC Electoral Commissioner in this year's election, HEADQUARTERS wishes to inform all its followers that information reaching us from the strong room indicates the election will take place on Friday, 15th October 2021. This came as a result of an order from the Dean of Students in consultation with all aspirants, the EC, and other students activist who have an interest in the election.
Levels 100s and 400s will do online voting where every student will have a special code sent to their students' emails on the day of the election; we won't use our normal mode of voting where someone can vote for you without your consent. Level 200s and 300s will do ballot paper voting in the various polling stations on campus
The Executive Committee of UGSRC will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday, 9th October 2021, at 5pm at the Union building to approve the new date and other arrangements. The EC will have no option other than to conduct the election before IAs set in, the coming weeks.
Do you trust the EC to deliver well? Are they intimidated by third parties or has favorites in the upcoming election? Who owns the system and can the decision of the students' populace be manipulated through overvoting or corruption on the side of EC?
